FARO Technologies Broadens European Presence

LAKE MARY, Fla., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- FARO Technologies (Nasdaq: FARO) announced today that it has recently opened sales offices in Turin, Italy, and Barcelona, Spain. The two new locations expand FARO's current presence in Europe, with headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, and existing offices in Coventry, United Kingdom, and in Paris, France.

Director of European Sales and Marketing, Hans Weigert, said, "Both the Italian and the Spanish markets are important to FARO because of their large manufacturing markets, especially in the automotive and aerospace industries."

Luigi Berri will lead the Italian office as Country Manager. Mr. Berri has more than fifteen years experience in the metrology market in Italy. Christian Baugut will lead the Spanish office as Country Manager. Mr. Baugut has five years' experience in the German market with FARO.

Gregory Fraser, Executive Vice President, said, "This represents the next step in our continued global expansion. In 2001, the European economy is expected to grow faster that the U.S. and Asian economies, and our new offices position us for continued revenue growth in that region."
