FARO Earns 11-FaroArm Order From Fortune Top 10 Company

LAKE MARY, Fla., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FARO Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: FARO), the world leader in portable computer-aided measurement and imaging innovations, announced that it has received an order from a major multinational technology and services conglomerate for 11 Quantum and Platinum FaroArm systems.

"In this economic environment, it's critical for companies to find better, more efficient ways to do business," FARO President and CEO Jay Freeland said. "That's one of the reasons our entire line of measurement solutions continues to be in high demand. Using our technology is the proven way for customers to make their products and processes the best in the world."

The 11 systems will be used by the company throughout several U.S. cities - including Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati and Dallas -- in order to maintain and verify numerous components during service interruptions. FARO's portable CMM technology enables users to digitally capture a component's 3-D measurements and create or compare them to original CAD files for verification. The Quantum and Platinum FaroArms will reduce completion time on each job by multiple days, which will save the company millions of dollars during those critical periods.

"The payback far exceeds the cost," Dave Morse, FARO's SVP and Managing Director of the Americas said. "The strong ROI combined with the creative pricing programs we have in place should make it easier for other companies to adapt this technology and reap the same benefits."
